There are few birds that seem to capture the imagination in quite in the same way as a hummingbird. The way the dart around never staying in the same place for more than a few seconds. Their ability to hover or fly backwards. The wings always a blur. For all the things that facinate us about hummingbirds, these are the very same things that make them so challenging to photography. On our trip to Ecuador in 2026 we were astounded by the sheer variety of species. Darwinian selected with species adapted to feed on a single type of flower. Enough variety that they deserve there own page!
