Breckenridge
A Collection of Celebrations
While a rather short stay, this trip to Breckenridge had a dual purpose. First it was a chance to celebrate my wife's fortieth birthday. The second was an early anniversary reprisal of our wedding hike in 2020 to Lower Mohawk Lake. We were fortunate the first time around to have the area passible in late October. While there were still patches of snow, even in early July, the weather was conducive to a more comfortable hike. I was also encouraged along the way by a couple a good 15 years my senior who were making the same trek. It gives me hope that we will be able to enjoy this adventure for many years to come. Another advantage of doing the trip during the summer is introduction to the state flower of Colorado, the Columbine. I was so happy to have my sister-, brother- and mother-in-law to make this a special trip for my beautiful wife.
