The year started out with a happy accident. We were interested in making a trip to Peru to visit Machu Pichu. Not being the best at thinking far enough into the future, we missed out on the deadline. Since we already had booked the time off, we ran through several options and ended up taking our first excursion with G Adventures to Ecuador. Next we went to Buffalo to welcome the second Dr Knitter into the family as Emily graduated with her pHD in Psychology. This was followed by a relatively local outing to the Louisville Zoo which was in preparation for our major adventure of the year, a trip to Tanzania. Before leaving the country there were some side trips to Austin to help Olivia settle in after her move from Los Angeles and a CME trip to San Diego. We ended the year with a diving trip to Grand Cayman. Here we concluded that we needed another diving destination in December other than the Caribbean. In all I took almost 20,000 images with my best of the year representing only the top 0.7% of those images
