Having make the decision to leave Michigan after 15 years, for perhaps the first time in my life we had the opportunity to choose just about anywhere. Both Lindsay and I were partial to the idea of moving back to Virginia but struggled to find an opportunity that was a good fit. While my experience with Kentucky was limited to an unbelievably hot day at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, I knew this area of the state held a similar appeal to Virginia. After a pleasant interview trip, we decided to make the leap and move to Danville Kentucky. During our interview we had dinner at the restaurant at Shaker Village. When we came back to look for houses we decided to spend several days at the Inn that was converted room from when this was a thriving community.
